Electric scooter manufacturing company Ather Energy has launched its new electric scooter Ather Konarc in India. The company presented it on its fourth annual community day. Along with Konarc, the company has also launched its new EL platform. It has been designed for daily use. Features like range up to 161km, autohold, park assist and magic-key are available in the scooter.
Ather Konarc is currently introduced in S and Z variants. However, the prices of three models of S series have just been announced. Konarc S 100 price starts at ₹99,999. The price of its S 125 model is ₹ 1,21,999 and the price of S 161 is ₹ 1,44,999. All these prices are ex-showroom. The company is also planning to add a 200km range model to the Konarc lineup. Whereas, Konarc Z will be brought with 125km and 161km range. The prices of Z series have not been disclosed yet.
Deliveries of the S 125 and S 161 are expected to begin from September. The S 100 will be introduced in the first quarter of 2027. The S model with 200km range is planned to be launched in the third quarter of 2027. Z series may arrive in the second quarter of 2027.
Range up to 161km
Konarc is the first electric scooter based on the company’s new EL platform. Ather says that this platform has been prepared on the basis of field data of about 26 lakh kilometers. Konarc S 100 has a 2.1kWh battery, S 125 has a 2.7kWh battery and S 161 has a 3.5kWh battery. S 100 has a peak power of 4kW and 16Nm torque. The S 125 and S 161 have a peak power of 4.7kW and 16Nm torque. The top speed of all three models is 70kmph.
Features like MagicKey and AutoHold
Many features have been provided in Konarc to make daily use easier. With the help of Park Assist Reverse, it is easy to reverse the scooter through the motor. At the same time, Auto Hold helps in keeping the scooter in place after stopping. AEBS i.e. Advanced Electronic Braking System has been provided in Z variant. According to the company, this helps in improving braking through electronic control, reducing stopping distance and reducing the possibility of rear wheel locking during sharp braking. With the help of Magic-Key feature, the user can open the boot of the scooter through Ather app. In Konarc Z 161, this feature works with AutoPop, so that the boot can open automatically.
Google Maps and WhatsApp also
Konarc Z will have support for Google Maps and WhatsApp on the dashboard. Cricket scores can also be seen when the scooter is stopped. Through Ather Connect subscription, features like theft and tow alert, ride statistics, Find My Scooter, remote charging status and OTA updates will be available. Vehicle FallSafe is also provided in the top variant, while S 125 and S 161 will get AirWalk feature.
