If you are using a Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone, then there is good news for you. Xiaomi itself has released the list of phones that will get the new ‘Soft Light Glass UI’ effect with the upcoming HyperOS 4 update. This list has been released for the Chinese market, but since it is based on chipset capabilities rather than market preferences, similar models in the global market should also get this new feature. This new ‘Soft Light Glass’ effect is heavily inspired by Apple’s ‘Liquid Glass UI’. Since it requires complex graphics rendering and interactive lighting effects, only Xiaomi devices that meet the processing requirements will get this feature with the HyperOS 4 update.
List of Xiaomi devices which are going to get Soft Light Glass UI design
GizmoChina reported in its report that Xiaomi says that the ‘Soft Light Glass’ effect will not be available on all devices during the beta phase. The company says that this UI element still needs to be improved; Therefore, it will initially be available on devices with Snapdragon 8 Elite or better, Dimensity 9500 or better, and Xring O1 or better chipsets. The good thing is that the company is planning to bring it to devices other than those included in the first phase of the beta rollout, including older models like Redmi K70, Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi MIX Flip.

The ‘Soft Light Glass UI’ effect is already being rolled out to Xiaomi devices included in the first batch of HyperOS 4 beta rollout. Currently, this beta program is limited to China only, but soon it will be available worldwide.
