Instructions to telecom companies to use digital intelligence platform
DoT has asked companies to use its Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP). On the basis of customer data provided by telecom companies, information about customers having mobile connections more than the pre-determined limit is available on this platform. The Telecom Department said that from August 23, a representative image of the photo of each such subscriber will also be made available on the Digital Intelligence Platform in whose name up to the prescribed limit SIM card Already in progress. This will help companies identify customers taking new connections and prevent them from exceeding the prescribed limit.
Active mobile connections exceeding the prescribed limit will be suspended.
The department has asked telecom companies to organize this process with DIP by November 30. According to the circular, until this system is fully implemented, any mobile connection activated in excess of the prescribed limit will be immediately suspended as per the terms of the Customer Application Form (CAF) and will remain suspended until the issue of connections exceeding the limit is resolved.
