Minor Dispute Over TV Channel Turns Violent, Husband Hospitalised
A domestic dispute over a TV remote took a violent turn in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, after a woman allegedly attacked her husband with a sickle during an argument over changing television channels.
The injured man is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, while police have registered a case against the accused wife and launched further investigation.
Argument Began After Husband Changed TV Channel
According to police, the incident took place in the Chhola Mandir area of Bhopal.
The husband, a daily wage labourer, was watching television at home when he changed the channel using the remote. His wife reportedly objected to the change, leading to a heated argument between the couple.
As the dispute escalated, the woman allegedly picked up a sickle kept inside the house and attacked her husband.
Husband Suffers Head and Face Injuries
Police said the sickle struck the victim on the head and cheek, leaving him seriously injured.
Hearing the commotion, neighbours rushed to the house and immediately shifted the injured man to a nearby hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Police Register FIR
After receiving information about the incident, Chhola Mandir Police reached the spot, recorded the victim’s statement, and registered an FIR against the accused woman.
Police also inspected the scene of the crime as part of the investigation.
Couple Had Frequent Domestic Disputes
According to local residents, the couple had a history of frequent arguments over minor household issues.
The husband works as a labourer, and the couple has two children.
Station House Officer Saraswati Tiwari said the preliminary investigation indicates that the dispute began after the husband changed the TV channel, following which the wife allegedly attacked him with a sickle.
Police said the accused woman will be arrested soon, and further legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
The incident highlights how a seemingly minor disagreement escalated into a criminal case, leaving one person injured and prompting police intervention.
