Tea seller’s daughter reached the hot seat in Kaun Banega Crorepati, then missed this question.
Pragati Dinesh Kalpekar from Amravati, Maharashtra sat on the hot seat in the recent episode of megastar Amitabh Bachchan hosted reality TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. Pragati’s father used to sell tea and she narrated her entire story on the show from her studies to her father’s struggles and challenges to finally becoming an IFS officer. Along with Amitabh Bachchan, the audience also wanted Pragati to go home with a huge amount of money, but the twist came when Pragati missed the question of Rs 12 lakh and she had to go home with only Rs 5 lakh.
Father made IFS by selling tea
Pragati came to ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 18’ with her father and younger brother. He told that coming to Mumbai and participating in the show was his first experience of coming to a big city. She told that even today her father runs a tea shop, while she herself works as a junior clerk in a government divisional information office in Amravati. Pragati also told during the show how when she and her younger brother were studying, they had to face many challenges.
Brothers and sisters separated in childhood
However, one good thing his parents did in this matter was that they always kept his studies above everything else. Pragati told that keeping her studies in mind, her father and mother had sent her to her maternal grandparents’ house in her childhood. One interesting thing that Pragati told on the show was that because both the siblings grew up separately, her younger brother did not even know that he actually had a sister. It was only when he was about 5 years old that he started understanding this.
On which question did Pragati miss?
Pragati, who came to try her luck in Kaun Banega Crorepati, told that there was a time when she was dreaming of becoming a doctor. He had also prepared for NEET, so that he could become a doctor after doing MBBS. However, she could not get a seat for MBBS and got a chance to do BDS. Because many of his friends were going to do MBBS, he was heartbroken. Talking about KBC, the question on which Pragati missed and had to go home was – Who chartered Komagata Maru in 1914 to challenge Canada’s immigration restrictions? The options were- A.
