SBI Clerk Vacancy 2026, SBI Clerk Notification: A great opportunity has come for the youth who are thinking of starting a brilliant career by becoming a clerk in the country’s largest government bank, State Bank of India (SBI). SBI has released the official notification for the recruitment of 9124 posts of Junior Associate (JA) in its various branches. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application form in online mode by visiting the official recruitment portal of the bank at sbi.bank.in. The application process has started today from 11th August 2026 and candidates can complete their registration and fee payment by 31st August 2026.

Who can apply? Eligibility and Educational Qualification

Educational qualification: The applicant must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Students studying in final year or final semester can also apply for this provisionally.

Age Limit: The minimum age of the candidates should be 20 years and maximum age should be 28 years. Age will be calculated as on 01 April 2026. Relaxation in upper age limit will be given to reserved categories OBC by 3 years, SC/ST by 5 years and disabled candidates by 10-15 years as per rules.

Knowledge of local language: The candidate should be able to read, write, speak and understand the chosen local language of the respective State/UT.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process

Candidates are selected for SBI Clerk Recruitment on the basis of two written examinations – Preliminary and Main Examination. No type of interview is conducted in this recruitment.

preliminary examination : This exam is an online objective exam of 100 marks, for which the time given is 60 minutes (1 hour). In this, questions are asked from English Language (30 questions), Numerical Ability (35 questions) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). A separate time of 20 minutes is fixed for each section.

Main Exam: Candidates shortlisted in Prelims will appear in the Main Examination of 200 marks, which will have a total of 190 questions and the time will be 2 hours 40 minutes. It will include questions from General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude.

Negative Marking: There will be a deduction of 1/4 (0.25) marks for wrong answers in both the examinations.

Local Language Test (LPT): Those provisionally selected candidates who have not studied that language in 10th or 12th will have to appear for the local language test.

Application Fee and How to Apply

The application fee for General (UR), OBC and EWS category candidates has been fixed at Rs 750. Whereas for SC, ST, Divyang (PwBD) and ex-servicemen, the application is completely free. To apply, candidates should go to sbi.bank.in/web/careers, click on the link ‘Junior Associate Recruitment 2026’, enter your personal and educational information, upload required documents, photo and signature and submit by paying the fees before 31st August.
