Urvashi again said that it took 3 months to make this gown. It was not easy to add 3 colors to one dress. It was about transforming national sentiment into artistic expression.

Urvashi said the gown is not an exact copy of the national flag.

On this Urvashi said, ‘There are many visible differences between the tricolor and the gown. The most important thing is that this gown is not an exact copy of the national flag. It is a ‘couture’ (exclusive design) using elements inspired by the Tricolour.

Urvashi further said, ‘The differences in color shade, orientation, material and especially the marks in the middle are quite large and have been done deliberately to create a special effect on the theater stage in colored lights. The gown is a theatrical, high-fashion tribute, using three colors and a central motif like the chakra.’

Publicly insulting or disrespecting the national flag can lead to a jail term of up to 3 years, a fine or both.
