Accused Rahul Pal, Arrested for Alleged Extortion and Honey Trap Racket, Seen with Police Personnel in Viral Clips
A fresh controversy has emerged in the Meerut Honey Trap case after videos and photographs of the main accused, Rahul Pal, surfaced on social media. The visuals reportedly show Rahul cutting a cake in the presence of police personnel, including a woman Circle Officer (CO), raising questions about his alleged proximity to law enforcement.
Rahul Pal was recently arrested for allegedly posing as a police officer and journalist to extort money through a honey trap scheme.
Rahul Pal Arrested Along with Associate
According to police, Brahmpuri Police Station conducted a raid at an office located in Mohkampur, TP Nagar, where Rahul Pal and his associate Akash were arrested.
Investigators allege that the accused impersonated police officials and journalists to intimidate victims and demand money.
Two other suspects linked to the case are currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace them.
Viral Videos Trigger Public Debate
The controversy intensified after several videos and photographs began circulating online.
In one widely shared clip, Rahul Pal is seen cutting a cake while police personnel stand nearby. Another video reportedly shows him celebrating in the presence of a woman police Circle Officer (CO).
As of now, the authenticity, date, and context of these visuals have not been officially verified, and police have not confirmed when or under what circumstances the videos were recorded.
Police Allege Honey Trap and Blackmail Scheme
According to the investigation, the accused allegedly contacted people by posing as women on social media and lured them into honey trap situations.
After gaining compromising material, they allegedly introduced themselves as police officers or journalists and threatened victims with arrest, police action, or media exposure unless money was paid.
Police said one complainant, identified as Neeraj, was allegedly threatened and asked to pay ₹2 lakh.
Police Investigation Continues
Based on Neeraj’s complaint, police registered a case and arrested Rahul Pal and Akash.
Meanwhile, SP City Vinayak Gopal Bhosale has denied claims circulating on social media that the accused was operating a fake police outpost.
Police have also stated that no official statement has yet been issued regarding the viral videos and photographs, and their authenticity remains under examination.
Further investigation is underway to identify other people connected to the alleged extortion network and verify all evidence collected during the probe.
