Police said that this Murder related to human sacrifice and tantric activities Is. The deceased has been identified as Santosh Khadsel, resident of Tebarmunda village of Tusura police station area of Balangir.

According to Balangir SP G Abhilash, the main accused Shatrughan Sahu had called Santosh to his house on August 18 on the pretext of feeding him food. It is alleged that after Santosh slept at home, Shatrughan Sahu and some of his associates murdered him and beheaded him. After this the accused offered Santosh’s blood to the gods and goddesses. Police suspect that this entire incident was done as part of an alleged human sacrifice ritual.
The severed head was buried in the puja room.
After the murder, the accused threw Santosh’s torso in a pond outside the village, while his severed head was buried in the puja room of his house. On Thursday, villagers saw a headless body near a pond. After this the police was informed and investigation into the matter began. During investigation, police got information that Santosh was last seen with Shatrughan Sahu. After this the police reached Sahu’s house.
When the police arrived, the accused was in focus
It is being told that when the police reached Santosh’s house, he was meditating inside the house. During the initial phase of interrogation, the accused told the police that he had killed Santosh after a dispute over drinking alcohol. However, during further interrogation, he admitted to hiding Santosh’s head in the puja room of his house. The accused also showed the police the place where the head was pressed. After this, the police dug there and recovered Santosh’s severed head.
Police arrested five people
Police have arrested 5 people including the main accused Shatrughan Sahu in this case. A sharp weapon stained with blood has also been seized from them. Apart from this, the police have also detained the accused’s mother, brother and sister-in-law for questioning. Police are trying to find out who else were involved in the murder.
Murder for calling wife
Police believe that superstition and alleged Tantric activities are behind Santosh’s murder. During interrogation, the accused reportedly told that he had performed human sacrifice to bring his wife back to him. The wife of the accused was living separately from him with her son and daughter for about 10 years.
