When Shubhra was asked what was the reaction of her parents, she said, ‘My mother now feels that he is like a husband who follows his wife’s orders. But if I were a parent and my 20-year-old daughter dated a 40-year-old man who also has a child, how would I react? I think my parents did good.
How did their love story begin?
Describing her love story, Shubhra said, ‘The generation difference has flipped here. Anurag told me he loved me and I flipped. Anurag told me that I was not expecting this from you because you still have to see a lot in life and I have seen a lot and when I am saying I love you, I know what I am saying.
Anurag had further said, ‘You take your time and see the world, then come back. After this Anurag started crying and said are you sure that you are ready for me and will not leave me? We both kept crying again and only after this our bond became stronger.
Anurag then said, ‘Our bond is built on books, films, festivals. She goes to more festivals than me.
Anurag said on being a judge due to age difference
When Anurag was asked whether he is judged regarding age shame, he said, ‘We have our own problems. Not shaming, but self-conscious. At one time I became very conscious and once I even pushed him away. Her age is not visible on her face, so I am growing up and she is the same.
Shubhra further said, ‘Because Anurag has seen life and I have not.’
Anurag keeps Shubhra free
Anurag said that because he is conscious about their age difference, he does not want to spoil her career. He keeps them free so that they can focus on work.
