Jharkhand government betrayed us…Students angry over HC’s decision, announce to burn effigy of CM Soren today

Students protesting under the banner of JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in Jharkhand on Thursday accused the state government of betraying them after the High Court stayed the implementation of the notification regarding cancellation of appointments made through 11th to 13th JPSC examination. Student leaders alleged that the government had failed to effectively defend its decision before the High Court. He announced that today (Friday) the organization will burn the effigy of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in all the 24 districts of the state.

Forum leader Kunal Pratap Singh alleged that neither the Advocate General nor any senior advocate appeared in the High Court to defend the government’s decision to cancel the recruitment examination. The lawyers who were present there did not say even a word in defence. This makes it clear that this was just a ploy by the state government to end the protests.

Decision to cancel recruitment examinations

The candidates had protested for 26 days at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi. They had postponed their agitation for two months after the government decided to cancel 22 recruitment examinations. Forum leader Ravindra Paswan said that we had faith in the intentions of the government and felt that it wanted to take strict action against the irregularities in recruitment examinations, but we were wrong. The government has cheated thousands of candidates.

Ban on notification canceling recruitment

The High Court stayed the notification canceling the recruitment of government employees through the 11th and 13th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examinations. The court has also stayed the implementation of the order canceling the appointments of food safety officers. Hearing several petitions filed against the government’s notification, Justice Deepak Roshan asked the state government to file its reply by the next date of hearing, i.e. September 15.

What did Devendra Nath Mahato say?

Jharkhand Loktantrik Kranti Morcha (JLKM) leader and Devendra Nath Mahato, who fasted for 16 days over the issue of irregularities in the recruitment examination, said that he respects the court’s decision, in which the implementation of the government order canceling the 11th to 13th JPSC civil services examinations and the appointment of food safety officers has been stayed.

no compromise with irregularities

He said that we have started this movement not against any candidate, but against corruption, irregularities and systemic flaws in the process of recruitment examinations. Therefore, we are completely firm on our main demands. Mahato said that deserving and innocent candidates should get justice, but there will be no compromise with corruption and irregularities in the recruitment process.
