Maharashtra BJP leader Sujay Vikhe Patil has blamed US President Donald Trump for delay in development work and high consumption of alcohol. The former MP said, “Trump is the reason for the delay in the construction of the highway connecting two towns of the state. Due to Trump’s “bad” policies, there has been a shortage of materials required for the infrastructure project.”
The BJP leader said, “I swear by God, I have never seen such a crazy man in my entire life. In the morning he says ‘wait’, in the evening he drops bombs again. It is better for us not to fall into that man’s trap.”
‘People started drinking because of Trump’
Referring to the Ahilyanagar-Manmad Road Project, Sujay Vikhe said, “Today, due to non-availability of tar (bitumen), the contractor has to bring it from Delhi through vehicles. The cost has increased two and a half times. Approval is also required for the increased cost. These are technical problems. Whatever problems you are facing, I am also facing the same.”
He said, “Due to the confusion created by Trump’s actions, the amount of alcohol consumed by some people has increased.” The US-Iran war has affected the global energy supply. Due to this, an important sea route like the Strait of Hormuz has been closed for general traffic. Crude oil shortages everywhere have affected the production of petroleum products, and bitumen is used to make roads. Oil is a by-product of the refining process.
‘Problems increased because of Trump’
Sujay Patil, son of Maharashtra minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, said that this was the link between Trump’s bad policies and the problems being faced at the local level in road construction work in Maharashtra.
