He has composed this song to pay tribute to those Indian revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. During the promotion of this song, Mukesh insisted that Jana Gana Mana should be removed from the country and Vande Mataram should be made the national anthem of India. Not only this, he has also claimed that Jana Gana Mana was written to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth.

According to DNA report, Mukesh said in an interview to IANS, ‘I had said three years ago that Vande Mataram should be made the national anthem. Jana Gana Mana is not the national anthem of our country. This is a tribute to Queen Elizabeth. Rabindranath Tagore wrote a song in his praise. We have adopted him. Bhagyavidhata, Punjab, Singh…this is not ours.

Mukesh Khanna further said, ‘I want that Jana Gana Mana should be removed from our country as soon as possible and Vande Mataram should be introduced. Narendra Modi ji (Prime Minister) has started work in this direction. Now it has become necessary in every school, every program. Vande Mataram will be sung first. The special thing is that the entire song will be sung. Earlier, some parts of it were removed midway, so I am happy that Vande Mataram is being promoted. My song was released six months ago.
