There is news of great relief for the local people of Jewar region traveling on Yamuna Expressway. Toll tax will not be collected from eligible local residents at Jewar Toll Plaza. After a long standing demand, the process of providing this facility to local citizens has been started. After availing this benefit, eligible people will be able to get relief from toll expenses in commuting between Jewar, Greater Noida and Agra.
Local people were demanding toll exemption for 14 years
165 kilometers long Yamuna Expressway Connects Greater Noida to Agra. Farmers, social representatives and local organizations of Jewar region were demanding exemption in toll tax for the last 14 years. This issue was also raised before the authorities several times. According to Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, the decision to provide relief to the local people has been taken after several rounds of talks with YIDA and officials of the company operating the expressway.
Register your vehicle with these 3 documents
To avail the benefit of toll exemption, eligible local citizens will have to register their vehicles. For this, application can be made in the manager office of Jewar Toll Plaza till 17th September. Copies of these three documents will have to be submitted at the time of registration:

- Aadhar card

- RC of the vehicle
After completion of the verification and registration process, local citizens will get the facility of toll-free transportation under the prescribed system.
Toll varies according to vehicles
Toll rates are fixed for different categories of vehicles on Yamuna Expressway. At Jewar toll plaza, toll is Rs 60 for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and tractors, while Rs 120 for cars. Light commercial vehicles are charged Rs 185 and bus-trucks are charged Rs 380. At the same time, the toll for multi-axle vehicles is Rs 580, while for oversized vehicles it is Rs 745. In such a situation, eligible local people who regularly use the expressway can get significant savings from toll exemption.
