Teachers Day Speech In Hindi: Teachers Day Speech

My greetings to respected Principal Sir, all the teachers and my friends.

Today we all have gathered here on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. Best wishes to all of you on Teacher’s Day. Teachers are the pillar and guide of our life. He gives his time to enhance our lives and take it forward. Just as a potter carves clay to create a work of art, teachers in the same way enhance our children and groom us. Teachers not only give us education but they always try to make us a good person. His words only enhance our lives. Friends, on this day we should remember and salute Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Teacher’s Day on 5th September. Teacher’s Day on 5th September is dedicated to him only. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the first Vice President of the country and a great educationist, conductor of Indian culture, eminent educationist and great philosopher.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan himself was a very good teacher. Born on 5 September 1888 in Tirumani, a small village in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was nominated for the Nobel Prize 27 times. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954.

Now let me tell you about the story due to which his birthday was chosen as Teacher’s Day. Once his students respectfully asked him if they could give him a gift on his birthday and celebrate his birthday. On this, Dr. Radhakrishnan refused to accept gifts from the students and said that they can celebrate this day as Teacher’s Day. When he later died, it was decided to celebrate Teacher’s Day on his birthday, 5th September, to pay tribute and respect to him.

Teachers build our society. That’s where our guides are. The position of a teacher is higher than that of a parent. Parents definitely give birth to a child but the teacher shapes his character and lays the foundation for a bright future. Therefore, no matter how old we become, we should never forget our teachers.

Believe me, we will remember the things taught by our teachers at every difficult and good turn of life. Just as a potter gives direction to an earthen vessel, teachers shape our lives.

Teachers are our source of inspiration who always inspire us to move forward.

I would like to conclude my speech with a few famous lines-

Without Guru there is no knowledge, without Guru there is no direction,

Without a Guru, the senses cannot be improved, without a Guru, no glory can be gained.

Guru Govind Dou stood, Kake Lagu Paay.

You are Balihari Guru, Govind Diyo told me
