Big news has come for the people of Greater Noida in terms of connectivity. The planning to build Uttar Pradesh’s first double decker elevated road in the city has been approved. This ambitious project will be built from Ekmurti Chowk to Shahberi and further it will be connected to Meerut Expressway i.e. NH-9. After the completion of this corridor, it is expected to become much easier to travel from Greater Noida to Delhi and Meerut.
Greater Noida Authority The proposal related to this project has been approved in the board meeting. According to the authority’s CEO Ravi Kumar NG, this will be the first double-decker elevated road in the state. Consent of Noida and Yamuna authorities will also be taken to take the project forward. In this corridor of about 5.75 km long, a three-lane double-decker elevated road will be built from Ekmurti Chowk to Shahberi. After this, a six-lane single elevated road is proposed from Shahberi drain to NH-9.
Construction will be done at a cost of Rs 1280 crore
The estimated cost of the entire project is around Rs 1280 crore. The cost of the project will be borne equally by Yamuna Expressway Authority, Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority and GDA. The double decker portion is estimated to cost around Rs 756.01 crore. With the construction of this road, the 130 meter wide road of Greater Noida will be directly connected to Meerut Expressway. With this, people going towards Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut will get better connectivity.
Greater Noida will also be connected to Eastern Peripheral Expressway
Another important connectivity project for Greater Noida has also been approved. The 105 meter wide road of the city will be connected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. About 12 kilometer long road will be built from near Junpat village to the expressway. Railway line, link line of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor and GT Road will come in the path of this road. Three overbridges will be built over them. The road is planned to be developed as 10 lanes and four service lanes. Both these projects will strengthen the connectivity of Greater Noida with Delhi, Meerut and surrounding major expressways. Besides, the expansion of the city and development of new investment areas is also expected to gain momentum.
