Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran has made a comment targeting the Chief Minister of the state C. Joseph Vijay which has created a political controversy. Nagendran has raised questions on the birth of the CM. He said that when people look for their father at home and do not find him, they should ask the mother at home who the father is. This statement of his has come in the headlines, while Nagendran is embroiled in controversies.
Responding to Vijay’s recent political statement during an event at BJP state headquarters Kamalalayam on Saturday, Nainar Nagendran said, ‘When people search for their father in the House and do not find him, they should go home and ask their mother who the father is.
Leaders expressed strong objection
After his statement, political parties and leaders expressed strong objection. The leaders accused the BJP state president of crossing the limits of political discussion and making derogatory personal remarks. Minister Rajmohan has termed it as rude and inappropriate. He said that Vijay had also advised his colleagues that decorum should be maintained in politics despite provocations and personal attacks. According to local media, a complaint has been lodged against Nagendran in the DGP office.
Annamalai expressed displeasure
On Nainar Nagendran’s comment, former BJP state president K. Annamalai also expressed displeasure. Annamalai said that this comment crosses the limits of political decorum. He said that questioning the government and political differences are part of democracy, but making personal comments about a leader’s family, especially his mother, is not acceptable. He described such politics as low level and said that leaders should not set such an example in front of youth and children.
Answer given on Vijay’s Kutti Kathai
Actually, Vijay had narrated a story i.e. Kutti Kathai in the Assembly after the defeat of DMK in the April 2026 assembly elections. He used this story to target DMK President MK Stalin. In which he had jokingly mentioned the whereabouts of the opposition leader’s father. This was an indication of Stalin’s electoral defeat in Kolathur assembly constituency. Many political parties including DMK had criticized this comment of Vijay.
Nainar Nagendran gave clarification
Meanwhile, after the controversy escalated, Nainar Nagendran has given clarification. While sharing a post on social media, he said that his statement was not given by targeting anyone or with any wrong intention. He said that some people are distorting his statement for political gains. He said that he is a person with deep concern and respect for mother, motherland and mother tongue.
