Kalahandi: A shocking incident has come to light from Kalampur police station area of Kalahandi district of Odisha. One in Nuaguda village here father killed his own son. It is alleged that an intoxicated father attacked his 20-year-old son on the head with a piece of wood. The son died after suffering serious injuries. The deceased has been identified as Alok Ranjan Gahir of Nuaguda village. After the incident, the police arrested the accused father Mansingh Gahir and started investigating the case.

According to the information, Alok Ranjan’s father Mansingh Gahir was demanding money from his son for taking drugs. When the money was not paid, an altercation started between the two. Meanwhile, the dispute between the two escalated and in anger Mansingh hit his son Alok on the head with a piece of wood. Alok’s condition deteriorated after suffering a serious head injury. After the incident, the family members immediately took the seriously injured Alok to Kalampur Community Health Center for treatment. The doctors there declared him dead after examination.

Information about Alok’s death was given to Kalampur police by the hospital. After receiving the information, the police team also reached the spot and started investigating the case. The police have taken the body of the deceased in their custody and sent it for post-mortem. At the same time, the police has arrested the accused father Mansingh Gahir and is being interrogated regarding the incident. The police are investigating the complete circumstances of the incident in this case. Further action is being taken on the basis of information that the son was hit on the head with a stick and subsequently died following a dispute over money. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the family and surrounding areas due to this incident which took place in Nuaguda village of Kalampur police station area. (Input- Shubham Kumar)
