Jabalpur News: Varsha Patel, a female constable from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, has taken her passion to new heights along with the difficult responsibilities of the police. Varsha, working as a constable in Madhya Pradesh Police, conquered Mount Elbrus, the highest peak of the European continent, and hoisted the tricolor of India and the flag of Madhya Pradesh Police on the peak. He achieved this feat by reaching a height of about 18,510 feet at 9:07 am on August 21, 2026.

Varsha, who worked under discipline and challenging conditions in her police job, used the same discipline and courage as her weapon for mountaineering.
Have won more than 10 medals
Varsha, daughter of Gauri Shankar Patel, resident of Gadha area of Jabalpur, had special interest in sports and mountaineering since childhood. She has been a national level baseball player and has won more than 10 medals in national competitions. Her journey that started from the playground gradually reached the mountains and now she is moving forward on the mission of taking the country’s tricolor to the highest peaks of the world.
Varsha hoisted the tricolor on Mount Kosciusko, the highest peak of the Australian continent, in the year 2024. With this achievement, she became the first woman constable of Madhya Pradesh Police, who carried the national flag of India there. Now by conquering Mount Elbrus, he has taken his mountaineering expedition one step further.

The Mount Elbrus expedition started on 11 August. The weather remained a constant challenge during the campaign. Due to strong winds, extreme cold and bad weather, the mountaineering team had to wait for favorable conditions for several days. Due to weather, the summit expedition also kept moving forward. Finally on 20th and 21st August the weather cooperated. The team started the final climb amidst difficult conditions. Braving Russia’s harsh cold, strong winds and challenging high altitude conditions, Varsha scaled the summit of Elbrus on the morning of August 21.

As soon as he reached the summit, Varsha hoisted the tricolor of India and the flag of Madhya Pradesh Police. For him, this was not just a personal achievement but also a moment of pride for the country and the police department. Varsha now aims to complete the Seven Summits expedition by conquering the highest peaks of all seven continents. After Elbrus, his next target is Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.
