In Purnia, Bihar, a bank employee shot dead his teacher wife in front of his children. After this, the 9 year old son informed his maternal uncle about the murder and then the information was given to the neighbours. The deceased has been identified as Shalini Kumari, a 34-year-old teacher working in a higher secondary school in Srinagar block, while the accused husband Rajkumar Yadav is working in a cooperative bank in Purnia.

The incident took place in Renu Nagar of Khazanchi Haat police station area of Purnia district headquarters. According to family members, there used to be frequent fights between Shalini and Rajkumar due to various reasons. There was a fight between the two on Sunday evening also. It is being told that the reason for this quarrel was two kattas of land, which Rajkumar and Shalini had bought together. Rajkumar was demanding the return of his share invested in this land from Shalini, whereas Shalini was expressing her inability to give this amount.
When the dispute between the two escalated on Sunday evening, Rajkumar beat Shalini severely in front of his sons. After this the prince went out of the house angrily. The elder son, an eyewitness, told that while leaving, father had said that he would end the story today.
After this, when he returned around 8 pm, the children were studying at home, while Shalini was cooking. Rajkumar shot Shalini in front of his son and ran away.

After this, the son made a video call to his maternal uncle Vikram Anand and told that his father had shot his mother. Then Shalini fell down on the ground and groaned and said to her brother – ‘What will we do now, we have been shot.’
Regarding the incident, the deceased’s maternal uncle Gauri Shankar said that there was a domestic dispute between the husband and wife over some issue. In this the husband shot the wife in the chest. During that time his two children were also present in the house, whose age is 4 years and 9 years. After the shooting, husband Rajkumar Yadav fled from the house. The family and nearby people hurriedly took Shalini to GMCH where the doctor declared her dead.
