midst the preparations for Eid Miladunnabi, a sensational incident that took place in Mauganj district created a stir in the entire area. In Alhauwa village of Laur police station area here, a person poured petrol on people preparing for Eid Miladunnabi and set them on fire. After this incident there was chaos on the spot. Four people got burnt in the incident, out of which the condition of one is critical. The seriously injured person has been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa for treatment.
It is being told that preparations were going on for the Eid Miladunnabi festival to be held on 26th August. Meanwhile, at around 7 pm, Ram Raees Jaiswal, a resident of the village, reached the spot with petrol and poured petrol on the people present there and set them on fire.
Within no time there was chaos on the spot and people started running here and there to save their lives. Azharuddin alias Raju was seriously burnt in the incident, while while trying to save him, Mohammad Saddam, Anwar Ali and Azharuddin’s brother Atiq Ahmed were also injured.
Seriously injured Azharuddin was immediately admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa, where his treatment is going on. At present, the police is busy investigating the entire matter and the reasons behind the incident are being ascertained.
