SDM Priti Kumari BPSC Success Story: It is said that if your courage is high, no difficulty can become a hindrance to your dreams. This has been proved by Preeti Kumari, resident of Nawada district of Bihar and daughter-in-law of Muzaffarpur. He has obtained the post of SDM by securing 166th rank in the entire state in the 70th Combined Competitive Examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). This success of Preeti is very special, because when she came for BPSC interview, her little daughter was only 6 months old and she was in her lap.
A wonderful journey from Navodaya to JNU
Preeti Kumari’s family environment has been related to education since the beginning. His father Nandkishore Prasad is a teacher in Navodaya Vidyalaya and mother Anita Kumari is a housewife. Preeti completed her 12th standard from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Darbhanga. After this, he did B.Sc. and B.Ed from Regional College, Bhubaneswar and then obtained M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences from the country’s renowned institute Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi. After completing her studies, she served as a teacher in Navodaya Vidyalaya and Government School of Delhi for about three years.
Struggle of preparation with job, marriage and motherhood
In the year 2023, he got married to Saroj Kumar, a resident of Muzaffarpur. After marriage, there was a routine of 9 am to 5 pm job along with family responsibilities. Meanwhile, a little daughter arrived in their house.
Despite taking care of a 6-month old baby girl, managing a job and a household, Preeti did not let her dream of becoming an officer go away. When the time came for BPSC interview, she came in front of the interview board with her 6-month-old daughter in her lap.
Changed strategy and success in second attempt
Preeti had passed the preliminary examination (PT) of BPSC in her first attempt, but she could not succeed in the further stages. Instead of being disappointed by this failure, he changed his strategy. After marriage and child, it was not easy to sit at one place and study for hours, so whenever he got time, he worked on his shortcomings with full concentration.
Preeti believes that in exam preparation it is not just about studying for long hours, but consistency and proper utilization of time is most important. On the basis of this strategy and the unwavering support of his family, he hoisted the flag of success by becoming SDM in his second attempt.
