UP Special TET Exam 2026: There will soon be a special TET for about 56 thousand teachers of council primary and upper primary schools of UP. There will be no negative marking in this paper of 150 marks. The action plan has been released.
UP Special TET Exam 2026: A very important news has come from the Basic and Secondary Education Department of Uttar Pradesh for the teachers and special teachers working in primary and upper primary schools of the state. The state government is soon going to organize ‘Special Teacher Eligibility Test’ i.e. Special TET.
The detailed action plan for conducting this special TET examination has been officially released by Additional Chief Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma. About 56 thousand teachers from across the state will participate in this examination, which will give new strength to their educational skills and expertise.
Exam Pattern and Time Duration
As per the ongoing action plan, the format of the special TET exam has been kept candidate friendly and simple.
Total Questions and Marks: A total of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked in the exam.
Marking Scheme: Each question will be worth 1 mark, i.e. the entire question paper will be of 150 marks.
Time Limit: Candidates will be given a total of two and a half hours (150 minutes) to solve the question paper.
No negative marking: The biggest relief for the candidates is that there is no negative marking in the examination. That means no marks will be deducted for giving wrong answers.
Category wise minimum qualifying marks
The minimum passing marks for achieving success in the special TET examination have been fixed by the department:
General Category: General category teachers must obtain at least 90 marks (60%) out of 150 to pass the examination.
Reserved and Special Categories: It has been made mandatory for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen and Disabled (PwD) candidates to score minimum 82 marks (55%) out of 150.

After the release of the action plan, now the Basic Education Department will soon announce the complete schedule of exam dates and application process. With the involvement of about 56 thousand teachers, the special education system in primary and upper primary schools of the state will get a new strength and direction.
