For meetings also, the government has said that wherever possible, teleconferencing should be used. There has also been a ban on organizing seminars, training and conferences at government expense.

Government breaks even on feasts

The Government of Pakistan has also banned hosting official government dinners. Exceptions have been made only for foreign delegations. Not only this, instructions have been given to serve only one dish in wedding related programs.

And the timing of the markets will also remain the same – shops and markets will have to be closed by 9 pm, marriage halls by 10 pm and restaurants-cafes by 11 pm. Takeaway and home delivery have been exempted from this.

The Government of Pakistan has also decided to cut the non-ERE budget for the financial year 2026-27 by 5 percent. The government has also asked provincial and territorial governments to consider adopting similar measures.
