The painful murder of four members of the same Hindu family in Rangpur city of Bangladesh has created a sensation. Many serious questions are now being raised on the police’s theory in the murder of 65-year-old retired teacher Ganpati Chakraborty, his wife Pritilata, daughter Utyaksha and 12-year-old son Priyam. Initially the incident was reported as a robbery, but as the investigation progressed, contradictions and numerous inconsistencies began to emerge in the police statements.
The police arrested two local youths Siddharth Das and Mugdh Das as the main accused in this case. Police claimed that both the accused were consuming drugs on the terrace when Ganpati Chakraborty saw them. Fearing being caught, both of them killed Ganpati, his wife, daughter and son.

Were four people killed one after the other without shouting or making any noise and the neighbors did not even notice?
According to the police, after committing the murders, both the accused did not run away but stayed in the same house for 6 to 7 hours. He had his meal there, took bath, took drugs again and left peacefully at the time of morning Azaan. It is difficult for the local people and family members to accept this story.
Police Commissioner’s changing statements
On August 23, he said that Ganpati was murdered on the terrace, his wife and daughter were murdered on the stairs of the second floor and the son was murdered in his room. On August 27, he said that Ganpati, wife and daughter were murdered on the terrace and later the bodies were dragged down the stairs. Apart from this, after reading the prepared statement in the press conference, the Commissioner left without answering the questions of the journalists.
Electricity was cut off at the scene and the water pump was left running, allowing water to flow from the roof. Due to this, important forensic evidence of the incident site is feared to be destroyed. Apart from this, differences were also seen in the police figures regarding the amount of money and jewelery recovered.
