Sharmila Tagore recently expressed her opinion on the controversy over singing more than two verses of Vande Mataram. He said that only two verses of Vande Mataram are good. The rest of the verses are difficult to say for those who believe in only one God. Now Kangana Ranaut has expressed her displeasure over his statement. Kangana said that if there is any religion which believes in one God then it is a selective issue, not a collective one.

Kangana Ranaut has shared the video of Sharmila Tagore in which she is giving her opinion about Vande Mataram. Along with this video, Kangana wrote the caption – I appreciate that Sharmila ji has registered her objection regarding Vande Mataram, but I am surprised that as an artist, how can her views on art/poetry be so limited and artificial?
Vande Mataram expressed the spirit of freedom struggle
Kangana further wrote- Words in any poem or song are metaphors. Poets use different types of imagery to create the desired effect. Vande Mataram is the spirit of freedom fight, Bankim Chandra ji is inspiring the country to awaken the power within itself.

While giving advice to Sharmila Tagore, Kangana Ranaut said that please get out of the Hindu-Muslim mind set. Kangana said- I like you and I have no objection to your big hug.

Kangana wrote in her next story – If a religion is limited to only one God and one type of expression – that too male dominated – then I am sorry, but who cares? Let me tell you that this is not a collective issue, but an issue of selective people.
