Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Admission 2026: The Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has extended the last date of admission to all courses in distance and online mode for the academic session 2026-27. Earlier the last date for applying for these courses was fixed as 10th August, which has now been extended to 8th September 2026. Students who were not able to apply earlier due to some reason can now easily submit their form by visiting the official admission portal of the university admission.jmi.ac.in.
11 new job-oriented courses started for students
Along with extending the application deadline, Jamia Millia Islamia has launched 11 new certificate and diploma courses keeping in mind the career and skill development of the students. Already 49 distance and online courses were being run in the university, in which with the addition of these 11 new courses, students will now get the opportunity to choose the subjects of their choice.
Which new courses were started
Foreign and Indian Languages: Certificate courses in French, Spanish, Chinese, Persian, Arabic and Russian.
Media and Creative Skills: Certificate courses in Photography and Video Editing, Anchoring and Broadcast Presentation.
Indian Knowledge Systems: Certificate Course in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).
Other Courses: Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Media and Advanced Diploma in Conflict Analysis and Peace Building.
New date of B.Ed and MBA (ODL) entrance exam
Along with the application date, Jamia administration has also changed the dates of entrance examination for B.Ed and MBA (MBA ODL) courses. Now the entrance examination for both these courses will be held on 19 September 2026. This examination will be held in the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia, information about which will be given to the students through their admit card.
Selection Process and Document Verification Schedule
After completion of the application process, confirmation of admission will be sent to the shortlisted candidates on their registered email ID. After this, the process of physical verification of the original documents of the candidates and deposit of fees will be completed between 26 September to 6 October 2026. According to the university, the last date for completing all the admission formalities has been fixed as October 10, 2026.

- Visit the official portal admission.jmi.ac.in and click on ‘New Registration’ and create your account.
2. Activate the account with the activation code received on registered email/mobile and login.
3. Enter your personal information in the ‘Applicant Detail’ section.
4. Go to ‘Program Selection’ and select your preferred course and study center (LSC).
5. Scan and upload your passport photo, signature and required educational mark sheets.
6. Check the filled details and pay the fees online and keep the printout of the final application form.
